Reservations at South Inlet Wilderness Campground are handled by phone and tracked on paper notepads, so campers should plan ahead and bring most supplies from camping near Frenchtown before heading up the east side of Moosehead Lake toward Kokadjo. Sites run $15–$20 per night and sit along First Roach Pond, with some right at the water's edge and others on a rise above it. Bring your own water. Outhouses are across the road from the waterfront sites. Anglers, paddlers, and moose-watchers tend to get the most out of the area. AMC Medawisla Lodge and Cabins is an alternative for campers wanting more structured facilities nearby.
