    Land-O-Pines Family Campground

    Pleasant campground

Land-O-Pines is a nice private RV park near Folsom and Covington. We stayed two nights because my daughter was in a horse competition at a nearby horse farm. The sites are mostly shady. The streets and sites are gravel and can get a little muddy in spots after a rain. The park was clean and quiet, and the staff was friendly. About half the sites are for permanent users.

Stayed in pull-through campsite C69 which was shady and level. It was a gravel site. There was enough parking for my 34 ft TT and truck. Neighbors are nearby by not on top of you. The site included: picnic table on gravel, no fire ring. Utilities: 20/50A electric near the middle. The 20A receptacle looked like it had some minor burn marks. Water next to power pole, good pressure. Sewer near power pole with 4 non screw-on fitting.

AT&T had 2 bars of LTE and Verizon full bars of LTE service. AT&T Speedtest: 30.8 Mbps down, 3.6 Mbps up. Verizon Speedtest: 4.5 Mbps down, 11.8 Mbps up. WiFi available, but did not use. Required a login.

Would stay here again. We camped at Land-O-Pines Family Campground in a Travel Trailer.

New Orleans RV Resort & Marina

    NOLA on the water

Nice & easy clean resort. They pick up your trash by noon, LP pickup/refill, shower hot, store, pool, hot tub, sitting areas with rockers, laundry, dog area and great restaurant/sport bar. Had excellent crab cake and bisque. -2 roadways to enter/exit resort. A car can drive toward north but some potholes would not advise RV on road toward lake pontchaitrain.

New Orleans RV Resort & Marina

    Interesting location, a hidden gem.

The biggest drawbacks are the drive up and the ... Flight for life? Helicopter that keeps passing over. The amenities are top notch, the sites are great. The price is a premium, but it's legit. We wanted a presidential site for its private hot tub, but apparently the one available isn't free for our duration. We got one next to it and it shares the excellent Waterfront view. The communal pool and hot tub are great to relax in after our long drive in. Looking forward to exploring the city which is right down the road.

    Close to the city

Didn’t really enjoy the campground, didn’t feel like a very safe area and it was not that nice. But great location as far as close to NOLA!

New Orleans RV Resort & Marina

Nice park, but a little overpriced

Pontchartrain Landing is nice RV park. We had a great weekday stay in late December and the weather was nice. Its not far from downtown New Orleans. When you first get off the Interstate, the area looks abandoned and a little sketchy, but it is ok. Apple Maps guided me right to the park. There is a restaurant and bar, but we didnt eat there. I enjoyed walking and sitting along the water in the mornings. The occasional noise from airplanes taking off from nearby Lakefront Airport was a small detraction. Playground was not much.   Place is fenced at gated for added security.

Stayed in waterfront campsite#21, but view was partially blocked by houseboats.  Pretty disappointed for $89/night.  Back-in site with gravel parking and a picnic table. No BBQ pit or fire ring. 15A/30A/50A, water, sewer, and cable TV hookups. Site was pretty level. Awning faced north so we had some shade from the sun. There was a flower bed with palm trees between the sites. Not much shade in the park. The site is located on the water. Neighbor was at least 20 ft. Away. Roads in the park were gravel creating some dust. Both AT&T and Verizon had good signal(3 bars each). AT&T Speedtest= 26.8 Mbps down, x 6.5 Mbps up. Free Wi-Fi is available at the office/restaurant and paid available it the sites. Did not use the Wi-Fi.

Overall, not impressed for the price, but would stay here again. We camped at New Orleans RV Resort& Marina in a Travel Trailer.

New Orleans RV Resort & Marina

    Hidden gem

This is a hidden gem in NOLA, it’s fifteen minutes to the action. And a beautiful campsite. It’s right on the water so you can see yachts and boats come in and out. The grounds are maintained very nicely, beautiful plants etc. nice space and plants in between each campsite so you have privacy . The employees in the office are super kind and helpful. There’s a restaurant on site, which is a new experience for us. The road to get here is rough though, it’s through an industrial park and looks very concerning, but then you come and find this! So nice. It’s also secured for those that are worried, I know I was.

Nice Park, 5 Miles from French Quarter

Arrive from Tiki Toms in Tiki Island, TX. We stayed for 2 nights on our way to Alabama. This resort sits approximately 5 miles from downtown New Orleans. It is a great onsite restaurant with a fabulous pool. The sites were spacious and well-maintained. A recommended stop to visit NOLA.

New Orleans RV Resort & Marina

    Fantastic location

We stayed at the park for 2 nights as part of a countrywide RV holiday from Europe. This park was head an shoulders cleaner nicer, tidier than our previous parks. The check-in team we're lovely and went through everything and also what we could do in the area. Lovely pool and restaurant with great prices.

The shower rooms were also immaculate.

We picked a deluxe waterside plot which was opposite one of the spare moored up river steam boats.

What you should know

Site surfaces: Most campgrounds in the area have gravel sites rather than concrete pads. David B. describes Land-O-Pines: "The streets and sites are gravel and can get a little muddy in spots after a rain," which affects mobility during wet weather.

Tips for camping with families

Water recreation options: Look for campgrounds with multiple water features for different age groups. Nicole R. describes Land-O-Pines as an "Older campground with small pool and older water slide but very homey. Shades and grass and dirt roads. Awesome creek that the kids have a blast in."

Connectivity considerations: Cellular service varies by carrier in the region. At Land-O-Pines, David B. reports, "AT&T had 2 bars of LTE and Verizon full bars of LTE service. AT&T Speedtest: 30.8 Mbps down, 3.6 Mbps up. Verizon Speedtest: 4.5 Mbps down, 11.8 Mbps up."

Budget for extras: Some campgrounds offer additional facilities at premium prices. At New Orleans RV Resort, Alex N. mentions, "We wanted a presidential site for its private hot tub, but apparently the one available isn't free for our duration. We got one next to it and it shares the excellent Waterfront view."
