Fishing and hiking opportunities draw campers to Dale Hollow Lake State Resort Park, where full hookup sites accommodate RVs and the lake provides access for boating and swimming. The campground sits on the Kentucky-Tennessee border in a rural setting that requires a drive through farmland to reach.
Sites are arranged in distinctive circular pods, with seven to eight campsites forming small loops around central areas. This wagon-wheel layout creates space for families camping together to park vehicles and recreational equipment in the middle while occupying multiple sites around the perimeter. "The sites are laid out like 8 spokes in a wheel, with plenty of space between sites," notes Greg F.. The arrangement works well for group camping but places individual campers in close proximity to neighbors.
Full hookups include electric, water, and sewer connections, though some sites require water hoses longer than 30 feet to reach the hookup. The campground features clean restrooms, a swimming pool, and multiple playgrounds distributed throughout the loops. An on-site camp store provides supplies and maps. Horse camping areas operate adjacent to the main campground, with several miles of equestrian trails available.
Dale Hollow Lake sits close to the campground, though direct shoreline access requires a boat launch rather than beach access on the Kentucky side. The Eagle Point trail leads to lake views, while other marked trails may become overgrown or poorly maintained according to visitor reports. A golf course and lodge operate within the park boundaries. The campground operates seasonally from April through October, with reservations available through Kentucky State Parks. Cell service from major carriers works reliably throughout the area.
