Within Perry Recreation Area, Rock Creek Campground occupies a peninsula that extends into Perry Lake, with most sites surrounded by water on multiple sides. This Army Corps of Engineers facility operates seasonally from May through September, accommodating RVs up to 100 feet with electric and water hookups at select sites.
The campground's layout creates lake views from nearly every spot, as Lisa L. notes: "You can view the lake from just about every spot." Sites sit level with direct water access for swimming and fishing. A playground provides options for families, while the dump station remains easily accessible just outside the main camping area. Volunteer camp hosts maintain the facilities and assist visitors throughout the season.
Finding the entrance requires attention, as several reviewers mention navigation challenges due to limited signage. The campground operates on an honor system for check-in. Restroom facilities require a walk from most sites, though campers with hookups can rely on their RV amenities. The grounds stay well-maintained, with regular upkeep of both sites and common areas.
Rock Creek works well for weekend trips with pets and children, offering swimming access and space to relax by the water. Nearby COE Perry Lake Slough Creek Park provides additional camping options within the same recreation area for those exploring multiple locations around the lake.
