Second time staying at Rock Creek Campground, peninsula b. Loved the view on the way in and at camp, as the sites are mostly surrounded by water.
Bathroom access is a bit of a walk, but if you have hookups, some of the sites have electric and water, with a sanitary dump easily accessed from just outside the campground.
Finding it can be a bit tricky, but if you slow down and look for the camping area jutting into the water, with the bathrooms near the road, good chance you're there. Camp hosts were awesome to deal with, and the grounds are well kept.
There is a playground for the young ones that's in great condition with decent options to play on.
This is going to become a regular campground for us. Loved it every time.
Fox den at Chain-o-Lakes state park provides a more secluded camping experience than Honeysuckle or the 2 tent camping areas. Pads are pretty level, and each site has some semblance of privacy from other campers (our site was protected on 3 sides by some fairly dens foliage and trees). Electric is easily accessible, and water / sanitary is easy to get in and out of.
The concessions/ camp store is located near the boat docks and is easily walked or driven to with decent selection of foods, gear, and fishing items.
Bathhouse could use to be cleaned a bit more regularly but overall a pleasant experience for the price. Recommend staying.
Overall, great experience. We stopped here on a cross country trip, but every time we called (example, coming in after hours) the staff was extremely friendly and made sure we knew exactly what we needed to. A lot of pull through sites, horse corrals, a dog area for bathroom breaks, and easy access to dumpsters. Quiet park with easy access to the highway. I'd
