Lake Afton Park

Lake Afton Park operates as a county-managed campground on the shores of a small lake in Goddard, Kansas. The facility accommodates RVs up to 45 feet with full hookups including electric, water, and sewer connections, plus a dump station for self-contained units. Both drive-in and walk-in sites are available, though several campers note the site layout presents challenges for larger rigs.

The lake serves as the focal point for activities, though summer conditions can bring algae blooms that affect water quality. Lai La L. notes the "lake view is great and the sites are big," while an on-site ranger provides assistance to campers. The area once hosted drag boat races, adding to its recreational history. Morning bike rides around the park prove popular among visitors.

Sites feature electric and water hookups for $14 per night, though leveling can be an issue on some spots. The campground includes restrooms and showers, though maintenance quality varies according to reviews. Campfires are permitted throughout the park. For campers wanting different amenities, Sedgwick County Lake Afton Park sits less than half a mile northeast.

Many campers appreciated the helpful staff and affordable rates with hookups, plus the scenic lake views. However, numerous guests pointed out confusing site layouts that don't work well for larger RVs.

Nice little spot

Camped here a couple of times, small lake that in the heat of summer has bad algea bloom. Use to have drag boat races here not sure if they do any more. I will visit it again.

Sad

Spots make no sense. Not someplace to bring a large camper. Bathrooms nasty with very rude campers. Go 15 min west to Cheney
