Eagle Point Campground — Kanopolis State Park

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Hiking, fishing, and wildlife viewing give Eagle Point Campground at Kanopolis State Park its main draw. Bald eagles have been spotted soaring above the sites, and the trail network throughout the park covers miles of terrain featuring cliffs, creeks, and caves. Anglers and paddlers have direct access to Kanopolis Lake, and the campground can also be reached by boat. Reviewers consistently note open sightlines toward the water from camp, making lake views a reliable feature of most sites.

Sites are level, with water available at hookups, and the campground runs full hookups including electric, water, and sewer for RVs up to 50 feet. The terrain is open rather than wooded, though one mid-April visitor noted many trees on the grounds. Crowds tend to stay light outside summer weekends. Holt and Sam L. describe "trails with cliffs, creeks and caves, campsites with incredible views and Bald Eagles soaring overhead." A dump station, showers, and drinking water round out the on-site amenities, and campfires are permitted.

Campers who want more space or equestrian facilities can look at nearby options. Rockin' K Horse Campground — Kanopolis State Park sits just to the northeast and provides horse pins. Horsethief - Kanopolis State Park is another nearby alternative, and those researching the broader area can browse campgrounds near Kanopolis State Park to compare layouts and amenities before booking. Reservations are available through KDWPT, and pets are welcome.

Well maintained campground right on the water! Will defiantly return!

Small Camp Ground but great views

This is a small camp ground with electric hook ups only. Great views of the lake. What really makes this park is all the hiking, biking and horse riding trails. Literally miles and miles of trails with some of the best rock formations you will find in Kansas. There is also a larger camp ground set back from the lake, that is larger and has pins for horses.
