Primitive camping on the south side of Kanopolis Lake, Caving Banks sits close to the water with a cottonwood grove providing a short walk to the beach. Most sites are open and exposed, though a few offer tree cover. Fishing draws regular visitors, and a playground and disc golf course are nearby. Sandstone Campground — Kanopolis State Park sits just to the south, and the north side of the lake adds 27 miles of hiking, mountain biking, and horse trails. Litter has been noted in the area. This campground works best for anglers and families comfortable with open, no-frills sites.
