Straight Park

County-managed Straight Park sits in Fonda, Iowa, with approximately 15 campsites available during summer months. The campground provides full hookups including electric, water, and sewer connections, plus amenities like showers, restrooms, and WiFi access. Campers pay $13 per night at City Hall.

Road conditions present challenges, with potholes and uneven surfaces leading to the original camping area. A newer section near the former school site offers 24 full hookup sites with 50-amp service, though the three-inch rock road surface makes maneuvering difficult and provides minimal shade. Gordon Prange City Park lies eight miles east for additional options. Cell service appears limited based on visitor reports. The town includes Casey's General Store for fuel and supplies, plus the Fonda Museum when open.

small town camping

This campground is operated by the city of Fonda has the only about 15 sides in the summer for the road is pretty bad holes or some cavities it’s around which is really nice in the summer time for cops down $13 per night do you pay in City Hall 50 a.m. service There is also another brand new area in town containing about 24 50 amp full hookup campsites where the old-school was torn down easy to find but there are 3 inch rocks used for the road which is very hard to maneuver on no shade about same price Good for an overnight or a couple days stop There is a Caseys General store in town that sells gasoline and diesel and some groceries also a snack bar on the highway and bar in town that’s about it there is a beautiful museum called the Fonda museum which may not be open at all times
