Thirty Acres Campground at Black Hawk State Park is near Lake View, Iowa. The area features flat terrain with a mix of open spaces and wooded areas. Campers can enjoy temperatures ranging from 20°F in winter to 85°F in summer, and nearby attractions include Black Hawk Lake and the Sauk Rail Trail.

Black Hawk State Park

Black Hawk State Park lies off the southeast tip of the town of Lake View in Sac County, Iowa and is home of the southernmost glacial lake in the United States.

The city of Lake View, in conjunction with the DNR, holds two annual events involving the lake. The Lake View Water Carnival, held the third weekend in July, boasts free entertainment, carnival rides and games of chance along with a street parade and water parade. The Arctic Open, usually held in February, gives golfers the chance to clean the dust off the clubs and play a course laid out on Black Hawk Lake, with prizes awarded in several flights.

Directions

While on Hwy 71/175 turn south onto Madison Street. Turn East onto 3rd Street. Turn South onto Blossom Street. The cabin is at 227 S. Blossom Street. Blossom Street turns into S. State Rd and this will lead to the campground approximately 2 miles past the cabin.

Nice views!

Beautiful view of the lake! Multiple options of camping sites. Clean RR and showers. Nice area!

Beautiful lake spot

We went in June 2019. Park is right next to the lake. Beautiful lake. Pretty busy with lots of campers. Nice walking path around the lake.
