We went in June 2019. Park is right next to the lake. Beautiful lake. Pretty busy with lots of campers. Nice walking path around the lake.

Cute tiny town with a cute little spot to park the camper. Located near the crick and manicured walking path. It didn’t offer much but it’s a nice spot to park for a night or two. Town has a little drive-in and a couple gas stations.

Stayed at the Angel of Shavano Group site in 2015. It was nestled right up to the wild that you want to soak in but still provided some creature comforts like tables, fire, pit and restroom with sink! Because of the quiet seclusion, Dahl sheep not only wonder through camp but they stuck around for about 3 hours! Also had a cow moose munch her way through. Beautiful spot near a creek and amazing hiking trails!
