Nezperce National Forest manages Seven Devils Campground, a forested drive-in site set in the mountains above Pollock, Idaho. Access requires navigating a single-lane, narrow, unpaved road with significant bumps; drivers should be ready to reverse for oncoming vehicles and watch for cattle on the road. RVs are not recommended. The campground includes around ten first-come, first-served sites with picnic tables, fire pits, and vault toilets. Bring your own toilet paper. A lake is within short walking distance of camp, and the surrounding terrain provides open lookout points. Nearby, Windy Saddle Trailhead Campground sits less than half a mile away for campers weighing options in the area. Pets are welcome.

Directions

From Riggins, Idaho travel south on Highway 95 for 1.3 miles to Seven Devils Road (becomes Forest Road 517); Turn right on Seven Devils Road and go 17 miles to Forest Road 517 and 517B intersection; Tunr left on Forest Road 517B and go 0.3 miles to campground entrance; The campground road is a loop starting going right. ADVISORY: Forest Road 517 is very steep, and narrow. Low clearance vehicles, RVs and vehicles pulling trailers are not recommened or advised to use caution when traveling the upper sections of this road. The road can also be slippery when wet or frozen and is not recommended for trailers in the late fall and winter.

Hidden gem

Hidden gem. Great spot. 10 free sites first come first serve. Vaulted toilets BYOT (bring your own toilet paper). Hidden lake within short walk. Picnic tables, fire pits. Great lookout spots.

Driving is single car, narrow, bumpy dirt roads. Be prepared to back up a ways when you encounter another vehicle. Also look out for mountain cows 🐄 they like to be in the road. I would not take an RV
