Great Campsite

I noticed that another review said there was not much space, but if you’re just hiking or biking and have a smallish tent, the host allows you to camp in a large open grassy area with a clear view of the Tetons. Great facilities, friendly and helpful host, just off highway 20. Highly recommended!

Great view but little space

The campground hosts were great and made checking in a breeze. The view is amazing and there are nice grassy common areas. Full hook ups were nice to have, but the camp spots were very tight. Our sight was basically on the road, we couldn't even put our awning out. If you stay try and get sights 1-5 so you can have a view. Everything was very clean as well.

Nice and Peaceful

We picked this site because it was sort of in between Yellowstone (50 minutes from the west gate) and the Grand Tetons (a 90 minute pleasant ride through beautiful countryside and views of the west side of the Tetons). Mackey was a great host. We had full hookup. Ashton is a quaint little town with a hardware store, coffee shop, and a drive-in diner. We also had a nice view from our site of the west side of the Grand Tetons. There are 14 full hookup sites. We would stay here again.

Pleasant Family-Owned Campground for Stopover or Basecamp

Context: this is not an RV resort nor a wilderness experience.  It is a pleasant, scenic, rural highway-side campground.  We stayed in early May en route from Bozeman to Moab.  Small pleasant campground near the highway between Yellowstone and SE Idaho sights and Jackson Wyoming.  Small cottonwood shaded sites adjacent to farmland and Teton views.  Clean bathrooms with warm comfortable showers.  The campground is ideal for a stopover or basecamp for visiting the west-side of the Tetons, Craters of the Moon, and other sights in SE Idaho (or passing through on trips between the Greater Yellowstone Region and Utah).  Hookups, wifi, 5G Verizon service.  Only drawbacks, are possible wind and some highway noise.  The owners, living on-site in a beautiful farmhouse, are friendly and accommodating.  It is a trusting handshake type of reservation, payment, and communication system (cash or credit card on site).

UPDATE: as of 2023, online reservation system and payment.  Easy to use.
