Paved parking lot camping in the middle of Jerome, Idaho, this county fairgrounds setup trades scenery for convenience. Sites are open and exposed with no shade, but the pavement means level, easy pull-through access for big rigs and longer trailers. Water and 30-amp electrical hookups are available at many sites, and the cost runs $20 per night. Payment is handled at the fairgrounds office during staffed hours, which means late arrivals should plan carefully: at least one reviewer arrived after closing and found the gate locked.
No on-site restrooms are available. A convenience store is within walking distance, and a gas station a block away covers bathroom needs. Showers are not included in the nightly rate. Reviewers consistently describe the grounds as well-maintained and clean, and the office staff as approachable. The grounds sit in a commercial district, so the setting is urban rather than rural.
The fairgrounds functions best as a short-term base rather than a destination in itself. Shoshone Falls and Twin Falls are within day-trip range, and Tara B. notes "a killer sunset from the bleachers" as an unexpected perk. Checking the fairgrounds event calendar before booking is worth the effort, as events can fill the parking lot and limit site availability. Nearby, Elk Ridge RV Park provides an alternative if the fairgrounds are booked out. Campers who want a no-frills overnight stop with hookups and easy highway access will find this setup fits the bill.
