Pretty area with not a lot to see or do

My wife and I camped on the shores of Anderson Ranch reservoir which is where this campground is located.  Walking through the campground a few times, we noticed that the camp sites are quite close to each other and dont offer a lot in terms of privacy.  If youre going with a large group where you know each other, it's probably fine but aside from that, it wasnt great.  The surrounding area though is quite pretty and the drive into Pine is gorgeous.

If youre into boating, fishing or any kind of watersports, this is your campground.  If youre into hiking, sight seeing or looking for a campground with plentiful shade, move along.  This campground is definitely geared towards people who are active in watersports and while there is nothing wrong with that, there isnt much to do for people who arent into boating or fishing.  I suppose if there is an alternative form of recreation for this spot, it's the long walk to Pine to get supplies.

Tent campers beware:  When we camped here, we had nasty thunderstorms roll through and our tent almost got air lifted into the water.  If youre in a camper or toy hauler, youre fine but when thunderstorms roll through, the entire area acts like a wind tunnel and anything not bolted to the ground or heavy enough to not lift will turn into a kite.

Overall, it's a pretty area to visit but I cant envision myself camping there again.  Even if we had a camper, there just isnt enough to see or do to make it worth while.  If youre a boater however, it's a beautiful area to explore with any kind of boat, jetski, paddle board or kayak.
