Accessible via forest roads, Cougar Point operates as a US Forest Service campground within Salmon National Forest from June through October. The established site allows pets and provides basic camping infrastructure in the Idaho backcountry. Forest Service management typically includes vault toilets and fire rings at developed sites, though specific amenity details require verification upon arrival.
Located roughly 9 miles from the nearest services, campers should plan for self-sufficient stays and bring necessary supplies. The seasonal operation aligns with snow-free months in this elevation zone. Nearby Williams Lake Campground sits about 5 miles southeast for those comparing forest camping options in the region.
