Within Challis National Forest, Beaver Creek Campground provides drive-in and walk-in access along a wooded riverside setting in a wide, sloping valley. The US Forest Service manages this established campground from mid-June through September, accommodating RVs up to 32 feet with vault toilets, picnic tables, and ADA accessibility throughout the grounds.
Most sites lack overhead shade despite the wooded surroundings, which works well for solar setups and valley views but may require wind for comfort on still days. Steve W. noted the clean, well-maintained vault toilets distributed around the camp loop and found mosquitoes less problematic here compared to nearby Lola Creek Campground. The campground prohibits pets and allows alcohol, operating as a paid facility with variable pricing.
Description
Beautiful setting along Beaver Creek, this campground is close to access for the Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness. Fishing for trout in Beaver Creek, in nearby Cape Horn lakes, and in the many alpine lakes found along the trail in the wilderness. Trail #4021 leaves the campground to go north into the wilderness. Horse corrals with feeding stations are across the road, at the trailhead. Facilities at each of the 8 campsites include tables and fire rings with cooking grills. Within the campground amenities include hand pump for well water and newer vault toilets. While there are no full hook-ups, the campsites accomodate trailers and motorhomes up to 32 feet long.
