Skeenah Creek Campground sits in the mountains outside Suches, Georgia, along a creek with an operational historic mill and waterfall on the property. The campground accommodates a range of setups, from tent sites to full RV hookups with electric, water, and sewer, and a clean bathhouse is on-site. Reviewers note the electrical grid can be sensitive under heavy load, so campers running appliances should plan accordingly. A covered pavilion with ceiling fans and games gives groups a gathering spot during hot weather. Campers looking for nearby alternatives can find campgrounds around Suches, including Deep Hole Recreation Area roughly two miles east.
Description
Nestled in the heart of the Chattahoochee National Forest, Skeenah Creek Campground & Historic Mill is a peaceful mountain getaway where history meets adventure. Surrounded by the beauty of the Northeast Georgia mountains and the foothills of the Appalachian Trail, Skeenah offers a relaxing escape for every type of traveler—and we’re open year-round.
Choose from 35 full-hookup RV sites, spacious tent camping, or one of our unique lodging options, including a Tiny Home, Bunkhouse, Glamping Tent, Vintage Shasta Camper, and Farmhouse Rooms. Modern amenities include a clean bathhouse, Wi-Fi, pavilion, laundry facilities, and easy access to hiking, waterfalls, fishing, scenic drives, and the charming mountain towns of Blue Ridge, Blairsville, Helen, and Dahlonega.
At the heart of the campground is our historic 1838 mill and farmhouse. Once serving the community as both a grist and lumber mill, the mill has been thoughtfully restored and still features a working water wheel alongside the picturesque waterfall that flows beside it. Guests are welcome to explore the grounds, learn about the property’s rich history, browse handcrafted pottery created on-site, and experience the peaceful atmosphere that has made Skeenah a favorite destination for generations.
Whether you’re traveling by RV, pitching a tent, glamping, or looking for a cozy cabin-style stay, Skeenah Creek Campground & Historic Mill is a place where you’ll slow down, reconnect with nature, and create memories that will bring you back again and again.
