Overview

This small campground is located along the banks of the Toccoa River just south of Blue Ridge, GA. This recreation area is the take-out for the 13.8 mile Toccoa River Canoe Trail. The recreation area offers camping, fishing and a canoe take-out. Same day Reservations are accepted. Quiet hours 10pm to 6 am. Sandy Bottoms provides a rustic experience for the outdoor enthusiast to camp, swim, fish or just to sit back and enjoy the scenery.

Nearby Attractions

Blue Ridge, Georgia is a mountain town in northern Georgia within 20 minutes of Deep Hole Recreation Area. Exhibitions and shows at the Art Center and the Blue Ridge Community Theater highlight the work of the towns thriving artistic community. Craft breweries and restaurants dot the downtown. Antique trains head to nearby mountain villages along the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway. Trails run through the Chattahoochee National Forest to Long Creek and Fall Branch waterfalls. Fun

I stayed at one of the primitive campgrounds at the canoe launch. It was a good time. Minimal traffic. Easy drive. There are only 4 campsites in this area and are first come first serve.

What a beautiful place!

We got to camp out on the spot right on the river and listened to the water trickling all nice long. Next day we got up and went tubing and had a blast!

Cool area

Great area to explore - very cool swinging bridge, good access to the river, fun watching kayaks, great picnic area, access to Benton McKay trail - no designated campsites

Ruined trip

Had a idea to go camping in Blue Ridge, GA. Could not find much info on campgrounds in the area but loaded up anyways. All camp grounds are first come first serve ( no reservations ). If you can find then. Most sites have 6 to 8 to camp and mostly beside the river
