Less than a half mile off of 75, this is a nice little stop for overnights, however the monthly rates also make it economical for longer stays. Not really anywhere for tent camping. There's a little bit of road noise when youre outside as to be expected with being so close, however theres just enough trees and scenery to make it feel a little more like nature compared to many of the other parks along 75. There are no online reservations, so you need to call or use the online registration request form, if nobody answers just leave a message and they'll be right back with you. Seems to be plenty of availability, we were able to book a monthly spot the day of.
They have a boat ramp, lake and river for paddling. Plenty of walking trails with all sorts of natures. We saw some deer and a gopher tortoise on our walk. Apparently there's a swimming beach on the lake somewhere. Almost all the sites seem to be pull through which was very convenient. We used this place as just a relaxing place to crash on the way to our next destination. Would be a great place for a family reunion. Sites have FHU and fire pit and garbage hanger. Volleyball and baseball style field on premises as well as other pavilions and gathering spaces.
During covid we had a lovely faerie themed campout with just over a dozen friends. It was absolutely perfect. A Pavillion to cook meals on, a stage to perform a burlesque show in which i used to propose to my fiance. And plenty of electric hookups for everyone.
You know what im talking about. Nothing better than mingling before and post burn. It's not pretty where you park, but it's a place to park with access to resort amenities. Worth it if you already have a place to lay your head, or….
There is so much to do as soon as you get there. Plenty of hikes and water activities. The falls are beautiful with so many risky lookout points. Will definitely be back!
Beautiful views and definitely wasnt crowded. Convenient location to nearby activities and very economical.
Stayed here for a couple days to visit some friends who moved to Asheville. BE ALERT TO TURN WIDE WHEN TURNING INTO THIS CAMPGROUND. VERY NARROW BRIDGE FROM THE MAIN ROAD MAKING IT ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY TO TURN INTO THE OTHER LANE FOR LONGER RIGS. Anyway, once you get set up at you're waterfront site you cant help but be in awe of the rapids. We hungout all night enjoying it's ambiance and the moonlight shines. Following day we brought down a speaker and just hungout and stayed cool in the shallower rapids. Most looked at us like we were crazy with the cold water. But we're used to the cold florida springs and it totally made the trip. The surrounding area is beautiful, but we were very content with the natural beauty at this park. This is one of the parks on our vacation that we wish we stayed one more day at.
Smells like eggs….some days. Other days you cant notice the smell at all. Has a beautiful lagoon area to swim around and let the kids play on the waterslide. Or be old and boring and goto the pool. There is also a beautiful creek thats usually about knee to ankle deep thats a popular spot to bring the cooler and campchairs at. If you have a smaller boat, then the ramp to the Wekiva River is convenient. Also nice for paddling. Though be aware there ARE MOST DEFINITELY ALLIGATORS. Just dont ask and be aware. Known to get rowdy on summer weekends but it's all in good fun.
Beautiful waterside sights, perfect place to bring the boat too. The lake it's connected to a handful of other lakes where you could boat to a different town everyday. Sites have plenty of space to make parking a breeze. Will definitely be back.
There are SO MANY places to camp next to springs where it's nice, quiet, cheap…Well this isn't that. This is a privately own river party resort. If you're expecting peace and quiet, just come on the weekdays. Bring more booze than you think you'll need, you'll never know who you're gonna meet.
