The Home Depot — Atlantic And Girvin

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

This Home Depot location provides overnight parking on Atlantic Boulevard in Jacksonville, positioned between Sonny's BBQ and Hardee's with easy access from I-295. The medium-sized store features a spacious parking lot with level accommodations, though campers should expect significant road noise from the busy thoroughfare. According to visitor reports, the southern and western edges of the lot offer the quietest spots with less traffic flow from shoppers coming and going throughout the day.

The facility includes standard amenities like restrooms, drinking water, and WiFi access, plus allows pets and alcohol. Campers can find Walmart — Jacksonville Supercenter just one mile west for additional supplies. Plan for a hectic environment with constant vehicle movement, making this better suited for travelers needing convenient highway access rather than a quiet overnight stop.

Busy Orange Home Fixer Upper Parking Pad

This particular Home Depot is a medium-sized version of the orange home renovation retailer located right on Atlantic Boulevard just 10 minutes or so west of I295 and is sandwiched between Sonny’s BBQ and Hardee’s. While the store itself is somewhat dated, the decent-sized parking lot is fairly spacious offering up fairly level parking accommodations for the night. Should you opt to anchor up here for the night, you’ll want to check out the southernmost periphery as well as the western side of the lot, where there is far less in-and-out traffic to contend with. While there is definitely some serious noise to put up with here – the result of the thoroughfare this Home Depot sits in front of – there’s also tons of cars moving in and around this place, definitely creating a hectic environ.

While scoring criteria may vary from one person to the next, here are the 5 most important criteria that informed my rating of this overnight location: convenience (EZ on- and off-access), safety & security, quality (of facilities), peace & quiet and amenities (either on-site or nearby). Here’s how I ranked this particular overnight spot:

Convenience: 4

Safety & Security: 4

Quality: 3

Peace & Quiet: 2

Amenities: 3

Overall, I scored this location a 3.

Happy Overnighting!
