Description
On the steep, forested slope above Boulder Canyon in Roosevelt National Forest, this cluster of three to four informal pullouts sits just off FR 321.1 near Magnolia Road — elevation around 8,100 feet, with open views toward the Indian Peaks and Longs Peak from the upper sites. The approach via Magnolia Road is genuinely demanding: sustained double-digit grades, tight switchbacks, and a hard 30-foot vehicle limit make this unsuitable for trailers or Class C rigs, while high-clearance vans, trucks, and SUVs handle the dirt access spur with care. Nights here are notably quiet, with woodland surroundings and mountain vistas that make it a worthwhile alternative when nearby Gross Reservoir campgrounds are full.
