Description
Perched near Rabbit Ears Pass in the Routt National Forest, this meadow pond sits just off US-40 at roughly 9,400 feet — subalpine terrain with summer wildflowers, audible frogs, and fish rising at the surface. FR-19 connects to several dispersed spots along the corridor, and the easy dirt-road approach off the highway handles large rigs without trouble. Forest service roads in this area are unplowed in winter and can become impassable under snowpack, making this primarily a three-season destination.
