Major Creek Trailhead Dispersed — BLM San Luis Valley

Description

Oak scrub screens this quiet BLM pullout at the back of the Major Creek trailhead loop, where the broad high-desert bench country above the San Luis Valley opens across the valley floor with dark skies overhead. Camper vans and rigs up to roughly 23 feet have found workable spots; tent campers can tuck in among the short trees for a bit of shelter. A trail departing from the lot climbs all the way toward 13,000 feet, making this a practical overnight base for an early start into the hills.
