You’ll find clean facilities, including showers and restrooms, which are essential after a day of exploring. Many visitors have noted the availability of electric hookups and drinking water, making it easier to enjoy your stay without sacrificing too much convenience. One camper mentioned, “Our site was clean and had great shade,” which sums up the vibe here pretty well.
For those who like to get out and about, there are some nice walking and biking trails nearby, plus a frisbee golf course for a bit of fun. The campground is also close to the John Martin Reservoir, perfect for fishing or boating. Just keep in mind that it can get busy on weekends, especially with boaters and fishers around.

From the Lamar, CO travel 23 miles West on Hwy. 50 to Hasty, CO. Go South on County Road 24 (School St) from Hasty, CO travel 2 miles. The Park Visitor Center will be on your right just before the road traveling over the DAM. --------------------------------------------------------------------- From the Las Animas, CO travel 17 miles East on Hwy. 50 to Hasty, CO. Go South on County Road 24 (School St) from Hasty, CO travel 2 miles. The Park Visitor Center will be on your right just before the road traveling over the DAM.
