Description
North Fork Lake Creek runs through the high-alpine corridor of San Isabel National Forest just below Independence Pass, with this dispersed spot sitting above 10,700 feet and rugged peaks — including Mount Champion and Twining Peak — rising on multiple sides. The creek runs cold and close, and even midsummer nights bring a sharp chill at this elevation. Uneven terrain limits the spot to smaller rigs and tents; FR 151 provides the approach.
