Muddy Unlevel Field

To be fair, it was raining when we pulled in but still, just a dirty field with limited spots and only 1 level area. Didn't love.

Good weekend camping

We stayed here for a long weekend to go see Telluride and the surrounding area. The directions led us to the campground, would be easy to miss otherwise. We found the area suited our 18 foot travel trailer. Was a little tricky getting it level but was manageable. There are no marked sites, we just parked where there was room and made the most since for our rig. It was pretty quiet a little road noise when a vehicle passed. Would stay here again.

Frequently Asked Questions

What amenities are available at Fall Creek Recreation Site?

Fall Creek Recreation Site is a basic, primitive campground with minimal amenities. The site consists of an open area with uneven ground and no designated camping spots or hookups. There are no marked sites, picnic tables, fire rings, or restroom facilities mentioned. The campground's primary appeal is its proximity to Telluride, making it a convenient base for exploring the area despite its limited facilities. The rustic nature of this camping area means visitors should come prepared with all necessary camping supplies and plan to pack out all trash.

Are reservations required for camping at Fall Creek?

Reservations are not required for camping at Fall Creek Recreation Site. This is a first-come, first-served primitive camping area. However, space is limited with only a few suitable camping spots available, and only one area is described as reasonably level. This makes early arrival recommended, especially during peak seasons or weekends when visitors are exploring Telluride. Since there are no designated sites, campers simply choose available space within the open field area. For those with trailers or RVs, the limited level ground may present challenges.

How do I get to Fall Creek Recreation Site?

Fall Creek Recreation Site can be challenging to locate without specific directions. The campground is situated near Telluride but isn't prominently marked, making it easy to miss if you're not paying close attention. Following GPS directions will lead you to the site, but it's advisable to have detailed instructions handy. Once you arrive, you'll find an open field area where camping is permitted. Consider downloading offline maps before your trip as cell service may be limited in this mountainous region.
