OHV riders using the Dragon Douglas Trail have a dedicated parking area here, complete with a fire ring, at this free BLM dispersed site outside Rangely, Colorado. The road in has a noticeable rise from the pavement to the grass. Conditions matter: the access trail up to five additional sites requires high clearance and stays passable without four-wheel drive when dry, but mud makes towing inadvisable. Campers who want campsites near Rangely with OHV access will find this spot functional, though it works best for tent campers or those arriving without a trailer.
Description
Not recommended for RV or low clearance vehicles due to the terrain.
