Great Weekend

This is a sweet campground that we chose for access to the reservoir and electric hookups on an extended trip. As a big bonus this campground is very close to the Canyon of the Ancients visitor center and museum. We found ourselves envious of the tent sites across the road because they were really nicely set up and private.

Our site 004 E was pretty great too. Lots of good trees for our hammock, easy to back in. Picnic table does not get shade at noon in late May, but generally good shade around the site.

Nice quiet campground.

There were several sites open to choose from when we drove in without a reservation on a Wed. evening. Some sites were unlevel and wouldn't work for our Class B van. Nice and quiet with good distance between sites. Sites don't overlook the reservoir but a nice place to land.

Found a great private site!!

We loved staying at site #6. It is totally private and really peaceful. It doesn't overlook the McPhee Reservoir like some of the other sites but the privacy made up for that. We saw about 10 deer during our stay - they were everywhere! Try to get site #6 unless you are camping on the other loop, where they have some really nice walk-in sites which do overlook the water.
