Within Grand Mesa National Forest, Fish Hawk Tailhead Dispersed provides free camping along a river corridor managed by the US Forest Service. This dispersed camping area allows pets and sits near flowing water, offering a no-cost option for campers comfortable with primitive conditions.
The site requires self-sufficiency since no developed amenities exist beyond pet permission and river access. Campers seeking more facilities can find Crag Crest Campground less than a mile northwest with developed sites and standard campground services.
