Description
Open BLM range in the San Luis Valley spreads out at roughly 8,200 feet, framed by mountain panoramas in every direction and dark enough skies to see the Milky Way in full. A network of two-track roads fans out across the flats off Noland Spring Road (BLM 5308), offering multiple flat pull-offs with varying degrees of exposure and solitude — the spots a mile or more past the old water tank tend to be roomier and more private, with some tree cover and fire rings tucked in. The access road is generally manageable for high-clearance 2WD rigs, though low-slung vehicles may scrape on rougher stretches, and the open terrain means wind can be a real factor worth checking before arrival.
