Accessible road and lush green colors!

Be cautious driving on rampart there are so many dam deer and wildlife.. the rain brings the trees and bushes and those in turn bring the wildlife here.

I’m not sure if alll the camping around rampart road area (beaver creek diverts off of rampart) is this amazing. But it’s pretty nice here along beaver creek road

Just 15 minutes northeast of town you’ll be at the beaver creek road dispersed section. There are SO MANY pull offs for sleep in car situations.

I counted around 3-5 isolated spots for large groups or spacious enough for a tent and your pets.

Gosh again I’ll say it it’s LUSHH so many colors of green and mountain flowers. Not so many places like this. In Colorado .I can count them on my fingers

Peaceful with a view!

Was very confused trying to get to all of the ‘Rampart Reservoir’ sites, as the directions seemed off, and many of the roads were closed/private property. Went up Rampart Rd and found plenty of side roads with decent spots. We wanted a clear view of Pikes Peak so this spot was perfect! Typical roadside free site, no amenities, but quiet and a nice view. Little to no traffic in early May. Roads were fine getting here.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where exactly is Beaver Creek dispersed camping located?

Beaver Creek dispersed camping is located off Rampart Road in the Pike National Forest area near Woodland Park, Colorado. The area offers views of Pikes Peak from some camping spots. Beaver Creek Road diverts from the main Rampart Road, with numerous side roads leading to dispersed camping sites. The area is in proximity to Rampart Reservoir, though some roads in that direction may be closed or marked as private property, so navigation requires attention to signage.

What are the rules and regulations for dispersed camping along Beaver Creek Road?

Standard Forest Service dispersed camping rules apply at Beaver Creek Road, which typically include a 14-day stay limit within a 30-day period. Camping is only permitted in established sites, indicated by previous use and fire rings. Practice Leave No Trace principles by packing out all trash. Campfires are allowed in existing fire rings when there are no fire restrictions in effect. Always check with Pike National Forest or the local ranger district for current regulations and seasonal fire restrictions before your trip.

Is 4WD required to access the Beaver Creek dispersed camping areas?

While 4WD is not strictly required for all Beaver Creek dispersed camping areas, many sites are accessed via rough, unpaved roads with rocky terrain. High-clearance vehicles are recommended for most sites. Some of the side roads branching off Rampart Road can be challenging after rain or snow. For the best access and to reach more secluded spots, a vehicle with decent ground clearance is advisable, even if not full 4WD. Be prepared for typical forest road conditions that may change with weather.
