Beautiful area

Loved the area! Trails all over the place. There was a lot of ATV and dirt bike traffic but it is Memorial Day weekend so of course was a bit busy during the day, night time was so peaceful and quiet. I wouldn’t let that stop you from staying a night a two! The scenery was gorgeous and you’re pretty close to Tarryall Reservoir!

🦡

Very large sites, good roads, dark skies. Drive a little further to escape the bigger rigs. Good bit of atv/utv traffic.

Great dispersed camping

We felt like we had the entire place to ourselves. There were a few more RVs scattered about but the spots are spaced out so well that you would hardly even know. We spent 2 nights & 3 days here and it felt so calm and serene. There were some ATVs going by on the road periodically but it really wasn’t a bother.

Our 22 foot trailer made it up just fine. There were a few bumps in the road but taking it slow was fine. Saw some larger trailers go by that were larger than ours that also seemed to make it by just fine when taking it slow.

I had full cell service on t-mobile but my husband didn’t with Verizon.

All of the spaces seem to be quite big and could be great for group camping. Weather was amazing In early May but the nights got cold pretty fast.

Would definitely come back! .

Lots of Free & Secluded Camping

I was at higher elevations near the Crystal Creek Reservoir, had imminent bad weather approaching and wanted to find somewhere free I could set up camp in a hurry. As daylight was fading, I was in a dash to get to lower elevation at Colorado Springs and encountered this area on my way there. A long loose gravel road will take you miles more than I wanted to travel, that's why I pulled off at one of the earlier sites. This location was secluded, with fewer than 5 vehicles traversing past my location during my 18 hour stay on Wednesday the 4th; of March 2021. Pulling off behind the trees I found two areas where fires were made, and decided to camp in the middle. Found numerous rounds of lead ammo that was fired off previously, I wanted to shoot off my own but looked up the rules and it is forbidden to fire off rounds for target practice in this area due to noise restrictions. There is no bathroom or running water. I currently have full service (AT&T) and a full belly being able to finally start a fire and cook something warm to eat. Hopefully tomorrow does not snow, but there is wintry weather in the forecast. Luckily I am camping next to my vehicle so if shit hit the fan I can just jump in there to get warm. I did see some human excrement near a tree where I was urinating, it would be nice if you would bury your shit. Other than that I would stay again in a heartbeat to save money from a shithotel.

Dispersed and OHV camping

Great Dispersed camping site for OHV's. This place gets filled up pretty quickly by Friday with a ton of you haulers. This is primitive but you have the city of Divide just right down the way. Lots of trails for all day riding that are very easy. Had a blast with sites that can fit 5 or 6 40 ft toy haulers. Will definitely be there again.

Awesome spot

Great Place! quiet even though it’s OHV friendly. It’s open with plenty of trees. Spread out so you are not on top of each other.
