Overnight stop

Stayed for one night on our way to big bend NP. Has showers, full hookups, nice little park and town.

Loved this KOA

Local to everything in Alamogordo. Propane available, laundry, cabins, hot as hell showers, water pressure is really high at around 155 psi. So definitely bring a regulator. Two KOA cats that are friendly so FYI

AMAZING

I have been full timing in my 22 ft travel Trailer for 2.5 years.. this easily is one of my fav spots. Camping is $3a day near the hot wells but outside the recreation area, is all BLM camping. Hot wells right next to our spot were amazing. I just wish they were working all 24 hours a day. The wells are pumped by a solar pump so cloud coverage or night mean the solar pumps aren’t pumping. But they fill up about an hour after sunrise and about an hour after sunset it drains. We were the only ones there for 4 days. It was awesome

Quiet close to Grand Canyon

Spent two nights here. 10/10 spot. Close to Grand Canyon south rim and town. I would get groceries and gas before coming here as it was quite expensive at 4.99/gal for diesel on 11/2

Quiet and relaxing

Loved this RV park! It was super quiet and peaceful. Meeker is one of my favorite towns in Colorado. Everyone is too nice there! Stayed for two weeks and will be back again. Laundry onsite, bathrooms and showers were cleaned daily. Was a few weeds growing here and there but the owners sprayed the day before we left! Meeker Airport is just across the highway so every once in awhile you could see cool helicopters, airplanes come in and fly away.

Great area

Great area! Super windy but perfect little spot in the sun up in the mountains

Nice park

This park seems newer and is pretty nice. Loved the turf areas outside our camper. Being a walk or little drive to the boat ramp and having access to Lake Powell is awesome.

Two downsides are that you have to pay the $30 fee to get into to the park on top of your nightly rate and it would smell like sewage randomly making hanging outside a bummer.

Beautiful area

Optd to camp out here for the night. Was about 3 miles back off HW 89. Super peaceful area. Was able to pull my 22ft TT with my Ram 1500 just fine on the way to the spot. You could probably get up to a 30ft TT or RV back there. There were a lot of spots available, just need to continue driving back

Loved this spot

The entrance GPS took us was super rocky but a Lexus RX350 got through it super quiet and remote spot. The back way out was a lot smoother and easily accessible by RV or travel trailer.

Beautiful area

Loved the area! Trails all over the place. There was a lot of ATV and dirt bike traffic but it is Memorial Day weekend so of course was a bit busy during the day, night time was so peaceful and quiet. I wouldn’t let that stop you from staying a night a two! The scenery was gorgeous and you’re pretty close to Tarryall Reservoir!

Peaceful

Loved everything about this remote spot! The sites were super clean and easy to access. There wasn’t much traffic. You’re down the road from the dunes and about 30 minutes outside Alamosa and other stores. I used the dump station at the sand dunes canoe ground. It was only $8 to fill up water and dump. My cats absolutely loved the area! It was a giant play box for them. Starlink works great. I use Xfinity for phone service and it works ok. Will definitely be back mid Summer. I have a 20ft camper and people were easily driving 5th wheels around here.

Not ideal

Stayed here as a lot of dispersed spots were closed due to snow. It’s one of the only year round parks in the area that had availability. I stayed toward the back, multiple trashy campers, no rules so people were running in and out of the park at all hours of the night. Loud music and arguing constantly from this one camper. it was hard to get some sleep as it would sound like people were talking right outside our camper. The only nice part about the area was the river behind the campground, however, it’s definitely not worth $45/night.

Nice park

Stopped here after doing some dispersed camping near the sand dunes. Super clean and private area and great price for full connections. Will be back when I start living in my camper full time.

Best camping spot

My partner and I camped out here at the base of Grays Peak on Steven’s Gulch Primitive Road. It was such a cool spot! We had plenty of privacy while camping. Will go back again! It was the best time. You will need a 4WD to travel to the spot. It’s about 2 miles off road.
