Sweet Oaks Winery - Temporarily Closed

Six miles west of the Temecula Valley, Sweet Oaks Winery operates 16 campsites within Cleveland National Forest that accommodate both tents and RVs without hookups. The property includes clean restrooms without showers, drinking water access via hose for filling tanks, and picnic tables across drive-in, walk-in, and hike-in sites. Fire restrictions may apply during high fire danger periods, requiring campers to bring portable fire setups when allowed.

The winery setting provides vineyard walks and views across Temecula Valley, with nearby hiking and mountain biking trails accessible from the campground. Hot air balloon activity is common in the morning hours. Wine delivery to campsites is available through online ordering when the tasting room is closed. Road access supports standard vehicles, and the location offers convenient access to campgrounds around Temecula for extended stays in the region.

Reservation Info

If you are setting up a tent, you’re welcome to setup pretty much anywhere you’d like, although we have identified some of the most stellar locations with the very best views! Tent camping is first-come, first-served, as we have 40 acres and plenty of space for tents. Arrive early to setup before sunset because it gets really dark at the Ranch.

If you are a HARVEST HOSTS guest, please note that we reserve all our RV spots with prioritzation going to Wine Club Members and/or Wine Tasting Bookings. You will need to present your PURCHASE confirmation at check-in to be placed in a confirmed spot. For those not patronizing the winery through tastings or a minimum purchase of 3 bottles of wine, our complimentary spot is on a first-come, first-served basis and cannot be guaranteed in advance. Although we whole-heartedly support the Harvest Host program, we are a very popular destination with limited RV spots and we must make room for paying customers first. I’m sure you understand. We are a small, boutique winery and we rely on revenue to keep our employees happy, the lights on, and the wine flowing. You’re guaranteed to have a wonderful time! If wine isn’t your thing, consider purchasing a minimum of 3 bottles of our Grayce’s Acres olive oil or participating in an amazing sunset horseback ride.

Great camping for newbies

Sweet Oaks winery campgrounds has 16 sites available for both tent camping and RV’s (no hook-ups). It’s pretty close to grocery stores and big box stores just in case you forgot some gear/supplies. They have a beautiful well-kept property with super-clean restrooms (no showers). They do have a water hose for you to fill up your tanks or Jerry cans. They didn’t allow campfires due to high fire danger though. You’ll have to bring your own fire pit setup if they ever allow them in the future. It was a beautiful walk around the vineyards but there are also hiking trails nearby. It’s off a road suitable for road bikes but there are also mountain bike trails nearby. They have equestrian activities also available for guests. We were able to get our tin top Eurovan to fit on one of their tent sites which offered a beautiful view of Temecula valley. The wine tasting room was closed due to the pandemic but you can order wine online and they will deliver to your site. One more thing, we counted about 8 hot air balloons as we had breakfast!
