Shasta NF Dispersed near McCloud Dunsmuir Cutoff

The conifer forest of Shasta National Forest holds this dispersed road corridor just off Highway 89 near the hamlet of Pierce, with Snowmans Hill rising to the south. The forest road runs long enough to offer multiple pull-off and turnaround spots, with decent tree shade — and low road noise despite proximity to the highway. Large rigs have used it successfully, though fallen debris has affected portions of the corridor and conditions can vary by season.
