Mount Shasta Nordic Center

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

About three miles up from Highway 89, roughly halfway between Mount Shasta and McCloud, this free dispersed site sits adjacent to a ski center in Shasta National Forest. The road in is paved. It functions primarily as an overnight stop rather than a destination camp, with space to accommodate trailers and rigs of most sizes. Tent camping is possible but requires finding a spot off the road. Campfires are subject to seasonal restrictions. Big Canyon Creek Dispersed — Shasta NF Forest Route 31 is a nearby alternative for campers wanting different dispersed options in the area.

Boondocking adjacent to the Nordic Center

This not glamorous stop over! It is boondock spot near a ski center. It is free and there is a place for a trailer or camper of almost any size or combo. I guess a determined tent camper could locate off the road. Campfires are optional depending on the season. The turn off is located about half way between Mt Shasta and McCloud and about 3 miles up from Hwy 89. The road is paved well enough. The location is in the vicinity of Trinity Alps, Mt Shasta and McCloud River Falls (which is pretty cool). I would use it again as a stop over.
