Wide dirt pullouts on both sides of the road offer room for large rigs, with cell signal and morning birdsong that carry well in the quiet before dawn. Traffic picks up considerably on weekends, when recreational and off-road vehicles pass frequently — midweek stays are noticeably calmer.
