Best RV Parks & Resorts near Elk Creek, CA

Several RV parks near Elk Creek provide full hookup options for travelers along Interstate 5. The Parkway RV Resort & Campground in Orland features pull-through sites with 50-amp electric, water, and sewer connections. Red Bluff KOA Journey offers 173 full-hookup sites open year-round with both 30-amp and 50-amp service. Rolling Hills Casino Truck Lot in Corning maintains 200 spacious sites with water and sewer hookups, situated just off the highway. Clean facilities, well maintained grounds and friendly neighbors. Conveniently located just off I-5, far enough away from the noise. Sites are level 75 ft pull through sites."

Most RV parks in the region require reservations, particularly during peak travel seasons. Dump stations are available at most facilities, with Rolling Hills charging $10 for dump service between 9am-5pm. Cell service varies throughout the area but remains generally reliable near major highways. For travelers with pets, designated dog areas exist at several parks, though reviews indicate these are often small and basic. Propane is not widely available at the RV parks themselves. During summer months, temperatures frequently exceed 100°F, making electricity for air conditioning essential. A review noted: "For an overnight stay that's cheap, then this would be your spot. It was $33 for a night with water and electricity. Sites were flat." Many parks offer monthly rates for longer stays, with some locations showing evidence of permanent residents.

Letts Lake Campground — Mendocino National Forest

    Dry Campig for 35' RV

We originally were going to Fouts Creek Campground but it was HOV weekend (Presidents). Lots of dirt bikes and law enforcement. National Forest pulled in officers from surrounding forests and Sheriff Depts.

With a 35' Class A our options were limited. A Ranger suggested Letts Lake. There is a narrow one lane newly paved road that goes up to Dixie Glade equestrian camp, from there it is dirt. Taking it slow, we made it to Letts Lake and parked in spot 12. It was a tight fit, but we made it.

There are two additional campgrounds at the opposite end of the lake but they are closed for winter. As there was no water or trash service there was no fee. Typically $5.00)

The lake is small with no motors allowed but easy to walk around. Pet friendly in fact all but one campsite had at least one dog.  Fire damage to the forest is substantial but new growth is already starting

The Parkway RV Resort & Campground

    Great place for stopover

We found this site via the Dyrt app. We stayed one night, in an very hot week. We really appreciated the pool, the very friendly staff and clean restrooms. Note that the pull through sites have some shade, but the gravel is a small heat island, so it takes long to cool down in a camper van without AC.

    Rolling Hills Casino Truck Lot

    Hidden Gem!

Only $55 for a full hookup that’s a pull through. $50 for Good Sam Members. We came in too late to enjoy the comedy shows they have every first Saturday. If you happen to make it on time, “Carlinos” or the place the host it is in the North Tower. Go right at the main entrance. We missed it by wandering around the casino trying to find it. There are also amazing views at sunset and sunrise if you get to the lots closer to the end- which we didn’t. Great front desk staff! They also have routine patrol security.

Laundry: $2.00 for washing machines and $1.00 for dryers. Must be done by 10 pm with the last load starting at 8 pm.

Showers: $15/person- not included in RV fee

Dump station: $10- only from 9am- 5 pm, although each site has sewer hookups.

No wifi, but I’m not upset because the price was great and I had good cell coverage.

    Middle Creek Campground

    Great place for dry camping

Beautiful location, campground was easily accessible going up Elk Mountain Road. Camped in Site 11, pull through, no hook ups, nice picnic table, grill and fire pit. Vault toilets, no showers. There is potable water close to the campsites. Very quiet during the week, it did get noisier on the weekends, but everyone settled down for the evening.

Great for families with little ones

We stopped here overnight on our way up the coast. Well maintained, nice facility and friendly staff. Definitely wouldn’t come back for long term camping as we have older teenagers. The facility is definitely geared toward families with smaller kids. It was great for what we needed.

    Red Bluff RV Park

    No bad!

We travel with 2 dogs in a 38’ class A with a tow. We did not make reservations just took a chance, success! The woman at the counter was very nice and cheerful they did have a spot that we would fit without unhitching. This is an older park so we were somewhat squished together but not bad. Very nice dog area (not fenced). Seemed to be mostly long term river’s here. Not bad for a one night stay. Those with longer rigs 40+ may want to think twice because of the tight turns and narrow lanes
