June 2025

I booked this campground to stay overnight heading south. Temp was 104 degrees so wanted electricity for air. For an overnight stay that’s cheap, then this would be your spot. It was $33 for a night with water and electricity. Sites were flat.

For the campground itself, it is not somewhere I’d want to spend the weekend. There are clearly lots of people that are there full time living in tents with lots of junk and trash piled up at their site. Several campsites had 4-6 dogs tied up to trees all day long. Also a good bit of people walking around with no leashes. Saw 2 dog fights in the 24 hours that I was there. I wasn’t even comfortable walking my dogs around the loop. Picnic table was disgusting. Besides taking my dogs potty we stayed in rv.

Cell service is ok, but starlink worked great. Never went into bath houses to scope out. There is a boat ramp/day use area for fisherman.

Nice overnight stop on my way home

It is a nice campground for a one night stop. Easy access right off hwy 5 and surprisingly quiet being so close. The camp hosts were nice, I would like to see the hosts do a little more maintenance around the CG. Clean up would be nice. Cigarette butts in the bbq, trash in the fire pit. Didn’t use the showers but the bathroom was average, needed a code to access which was emailed when we registered online. Not a more than one night place for me but nice enough.

Red Bluff Hwy 5 Easy Access

Can book same day online. However bathrooms require a code and I arrived too late to get the code. Otherwise was quiet, campsites were clean and spacious. Super easy access to and from the highway.

Nice, small, largely quiet CG

We are full-timers in a 36 ft Class A with a Cherokee Trailhawk tow. We were in site 11 for 4 days in mid May. The CG is clean, quiet(except for some I-5 road noise) and fairly well maintained, except for the low hanging branches that could use some trimming around the CG loop and on the drive in/out. The CG varied from half to 3/4 full over the weekend. The men’s shower had a sign that there was not hot water and my wife said she’d not use the women’s bathroom or shower as they were a little nasty. There are several nice walking trails around the recreation area. There is also a nice winery, Tuscan Ridge Estate, about 10 miles west of town. AT&T coverage was very fair, ranging from 1-2 bars of 5G, with speeds up to 3MB/s. Site 11 has one large tree at the back of the site that provided some welcome shade, especially in the afternoon when temps were pushing the mid 90s, but it didn’t block access the western DISH satellites. Starlink had speeds between 2 and 14 MB/s. We didn’t try any OTA channels with our fixed omni antenna.

Good vibes

Pretty here but the upkeep isn’t what it should be. The camp hosts seem like they can’t keep up. The noise after 10 can be annoying but you have to go wake up the host to do something about it. Sites are large and great for group camping. Will come back again.

Nice small CG

We are full-timers in a 36 ft Class A with a Cherokee Trailhawk tow. We were in site 23 for 4 days in late September. The CG is clean, quiet(except for some I-5 road noise) and fairly well maintained, except for the low hanging branches that could use some trimming around the CG loop and on the drive in/out. There were only a hand full of other campers there, even over the weekend. The campground host doesn’t do a whole lot here. There was broken glass in the road for at least 2 days right across from his site. There are several nice walking trails around the recreation area. AT&T coverage was very fair, ranging from 1-3 bars of LTE, although speeds varied wildly from up to 1.7 MB/s but often next to zero. T-Mobile didn’t show any bars of service, but we were able to get speeds up to 2.8 MB/s. Do to the heavy tree coverage, we were not able to get a signal from any of the western DISH satellites. There were 27 OTA channels to be had with our fixed omni antenna.

Ok for a night .

We had a nice site where we could see the water along the Sacramento River. The campground was clean, not many campers. We never used the restroom being self contained. In the spring I bet the place is pretty, but on our visit it was scary dry. The host site was dumpy and the guy unfriendly. I probably won’t stay here again.

We stayed one night. Really enjoyed the area. The river close by and all the beautiful trees, flowers and plants. Will definitely stay again.

Safe and fine

It says on a sign reservation only, but after driving around to the other spots in red bluff, and feeling great unease, I went ahead and drive in to a spot around 9pm. I immediately felt much better and more safe here. Had a great sleep and was on my way in the AM. I never interacted with the site host but it looks like the trails and areas around are worth hiking.
