Within Los Padres National Forest, Lions Canyon provides a small loop of primitive sites managed by the US Forest Service. The campground sits far from main roads, requiring travel on potentially challenging access routes that can become difficult in poor weather conditions. A creek runs along one side of the camping loop.

Campers must bring their own water, as no spigots are available on-site. The area allows hunting during certain seasons, which can bring additional activity and vehicle traffic. The remote location offers multiple hiking trails, though visitors should prepare for primitive conditions and potential crowding at the trailhead. Beautiful

Pretty far in from the main road, very remote. The road to get down can be difficult depending on what the weather has been like. A creek runs along one side of the loop, which is nice. Small number of sites. Be aware that hunting is allowed in the area during certain times of year, when we were there, there was a large group of hunters using the area as a parking lot. No water spigots, bring your own. Overall pretty nice.
