First rate RV park

Excellent place on the Hill river, RVs, and cabins only, no tents.

Everything appeared to be newly renovated, great condition, clean, friendly staff. I would definitely stay here again.

They even had an outdoor movie night on the Saturday night we stayed here.

Good campsite

Nice campsite by the river. Sites are spaced sufficiently apart. Occupancy is low this time of the year.

Place is ok - in a sketchy area

Not a horrible place. Wish we had stayed at the state park just up the street. The road coming into the park is just kinda sketchy- not the park’s fault. The park is clean and restrooms are clean. There did appear to be some folks that may be a bit long term which is always a bit of a turnoff for me. Overall not terrible but something just a bit off here.

Hello Alan, Thank you for your stay. The paved road into the park is a rural county road like many rural roads across the US. We are a year round park and allow overnight stays only. There are no long term residents. We do use workcampers that rotate in and out each different season and use a couple of our sites. We are family friendly with a playground and dog park. We have movie night and musical entertainment Saturdays during the summer which are very popular along with our concession stand popcorn and sno-cones. It is a pretty park with Redwoods and access to the Eel River . People love it here. Come try us again sometime!

Good access to Eel river & Avenue of the Giants

We stayed in a pull-through for for the weekend. The park itself is small, sites are tight but clean & well maintained. River access with swimming hole. Very close to Avenue of the Giants. But be aware that the river is quite low. Staff is friendly. Market is tiny but has essentials if you forgot anything. Very small laundry room, 2 washers 2 dryers. $3 for the washer and $2 for the dryer so bring lots of quarters if you plan/need to do laundry. We didn’t see any tent campers so it might not be allowed.

Great for kids and families

Great campground. We were driving south away from rain did not have any park camp booked and I just looked it up next to redwoods park and we popped in and they had a spot on Saturday. Grounds are beautiful, next to river where you can kayak or tube. Full hookups, not like your typical state camp without anything. Showers were nice and clean, well maintained. They had movie night for kids on Saturday night. It’s somewhat enclosed so we could let kids loose and they played with a whole team of other kids various games, it was really great. Oh and there’s a playground. Main office had lots of snacks, wood, ice, beer and everything else you may need or run out of. In terms of vibe, we liked it. Think Nickleback, sweet home Alabama in terms of vibe 😉

We keep coming back to this hidden gem

Our third visit so far to Giant Redwoods and we will be back again. Staff is extremely friendly and takes great care in the upkeep of the park. Since it was spring the river was flowing, prior we had visited in the fall when it is down to a trickle. All sites have 50/30/20, water and cable. A few sites have sewer and there is a dump station. Their WiFi is extremely good for a campground - we worked remotely for several days.

The Cat in Cabin 2

My boyfriend and I stayed in Cabin 2 on November 23, 2021. We had a hilarious encounter with a cat that was in the cabin when we arrived which we wrote about in the Cabin #2 Guest Journal before we left (see picture uploaded). We only stayed one night here and we enjoyed it. The electric fireplace was a nice touch to the cabin (see picture uploaded) and it warmed the space up enough, we never needed to use the HVAC system. It was nice to wake up in the morning and enjoy the view of all the humongous redwood trees around us from the cabinet patio (see uploaded videos). Also, the bathroom/shower facilities were kept clean. I would stay at this campground again.

Great experience

After driving 4 hours to stay at the state park we were rejected because of trailer size. Fortunately we found this site. Very friendly staff, nice well kept grounds close to all attractions.

Terrible staff, no river, and cameras in every corner

As you drive up, you wonder if you are lost because it is in a very sketchy neighborhood. You feel a little relief when you get to the gate and see that it is a well manicured entrance. I stayed here with my family for 3 days and from check-in I could not wait to leave from the moment I arrived. The staff was incredibly rude and unpleasant. I think the main staff member who runs the front office name is Vicky. Her demeanor really puts a damper on your day. She is quick, dismissive, not personable, and rude. The man that works there and drives the golf cart will get out and yell at you for driving 6 miles an hour in their 5 mile an hour road. There is not a river what so ever but more of a toxic sludge puddle. They literally have cameras in every corner of the campground. They have wifi but you cannot stream. Get ready to be awoken at 5:30 am to chain saws, blasting music, and roosters. The bathrooms were clean but that was the only positive of this whole stay.

Website misleading! Customer service poor.

Checked availability for dates We needed on website. Showed two spots open for the days I needed for four days. When we called to book we were told they have no sites available for the days we wanted. We mentioned that their website showed two sites available for those days. After that she stated she had one day open only for the 15th. That she had a big rig spot also and we would not fit. Hmm ok this doesn’t make any since we have a 2021 24DBS tracer which is 27’ 11”

Quiet Redwoods Getaway

This is a beautiful campground in Meyer’s Flat, CA. The area of Myers Flat is a little “sketchy” but the campground is very well kept and they close the gates at night which is nice. There are nice little cabins on site as well as RV sites. We stayed for 3 nights and it was very enjoyable. Driving and biking along Avenue of the Giants was the highlight of this area! There is a little dog park, volleyball court, playground, swimming area. (we didn’t swim due to the algae warning for northern CA) It’s along Eel River. There’s also a great market and coffee shop nearby that we took advantage of! (pricey but the only place around) The staff is so kind and Vicki was a great help while we made our reservation over the phone. Overall, we would stay again!

Avoid

We were very disappointed with this park.  The staff were friendly enough at check in, but after I settled into our spot, the sewer hookup was on a 45 degree angle and twisted (and seemingly glued in place) so it was running parallel to the ground, plus the cap was not removable.  We paid for a full hook-up and got no sewer.  They have a dump station so for a one night stay we were ok.  During the evening, the noise from adjacent properties was loud music similar to what you might expect from a bar.  The parking pads were sharp angled gravel and the tables were dirty as if never cleaned (which in the COVID times we are in, is inexcusable).  When we pulled out, we did use the dump station which seemed very nice and easy to use.  While at the station, we observed two different campers punch a code in the bathroom doors and enter, do their business and return to their sites.  When we finished up, my wife wanted to use a bathroom, so we stopped at the office to use their's or get a code for the ones by the dump station.  The staff refused to let us, saying "you have a toilet in your trailer don't you?"  My wife responded to say we just dumped the tanks and they said too bad, they don't allow use of their restrooms in COVID.  Inappropriate when considering other patrons using them, and the unclean shape of the campsite.  Never for us again!

A Hidden Gem

What a wonderful RV park. Quiet except for the very occasional road noise during the day, extremely quiet at night, very well kept up, friendly hosts, and very nice sites. The options here run the gamut from tent sites, cabins, W/E hookups and even some full hookups with sewer. They also have a dump station, bathrooms/laundry (currently closed due to the pandemic), volleyball, horseshoes, river access and more. Myers Flat is a small town with a tiny grocery/deli but not a ton more.

If you’re coming in along 101, take the Avenue of the Giants if you have some extra time. You’ll end up right in Myers Flat and see some amazing forests along the way.

We’ll be back for sure.

Great Location & Clean

Perfect first trip in our travel trailer.  The park was about 1/3 full.  Our site backed up to the Eel river with Giants redwoods everywhere.  The grounds were super clean and quiet.  Just hung out at the beach the whole time, but the Avenue of the giants is right there.  Must see if you haven't been.

Serenity!

The Avenue of the Giants Redwood Highway has always been one of my all time favorite places!

I recently camped at the Giant Redwood RV park and it didn’t disappoint!

Although it was early August, we were lucky enough to find half the campground empty and the weather was perfect!

This little gem is a short walk down to the sandy beach on the Eel River and has a few giant redwoods in the campground to marvel over!

There was electric and water hook up and a dump station only.  The campsites are gravel but there was grassy areas around us.

The owners are very nice and they have a small store there also.

My only complaints are that the street you have to drive down is not very pleasant. It had a broken trailer on the side of the road that appeared to be there a very long time, among other unpleasant sights!  Once you get through the gated area to the park, it’s lovely and you feel secure but going down that street was sad.

Although I shower in my rv, I decided to use the one there so I could avoid filling my gray water tank. It was a nice shower but there was only the one in the restroom near me. They could use a few more showers!

All and all, we loved it there and will be returning another time!

Just off the Avenue of Giants

We stayed here once while driving through the red wood forest along the Avenue of Giants. It is very close to the drive-thru tree in Meyers Flat. That one have a park and play houses made out of redwood trees that my daughters love.

Myers Flat is a weird little town. This was a good place to stop, however I’d probably look into the State Park nearby if we stay near Myers Flat again. The tent site was $40 because the was three of us. It’s $35 per night for a tent site up to two people and $5 per night for each additional person.

The tent sites are right along the Eel River. It’s very pretty. There was a dish washing station, bathrooms with showers, a little store and playground. The campground is gated and locks up at night. The staff was friendly.
