SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Garnet Lake sits within Inyo National Forest, a free hike-in site inside the Ansel Adams Wilderness managed by the US Forest Service. The trailhead at Agnew Meadows Group Camp is the common starting point, and the route covers several miles of backcountry terrain before reaching the lake. Access is on foot only. The site draws hikers willing to cover the distance for open sightlines across the wilderness and direct access to the lake. No fee, no drive-in access.

Beautiful views

It's a long day hike to get to Garnet Lake from Agnew meadows but it's worth it for the incredible views in the Ansel Adams wilderness. Quiet and safe. I would definitely camp here agin.
