Crocker Campground — Plumas National Forest

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

At $15 per night with pit toilets and no water hookups, Crocker Campground is a dry, low-amenity site set among scattered trees in Plumas National Forest. No pets are allowed. Sites are spread out, and past visitors have found the campground lightly used. Crocker Meadow runs directly alongside the campground, giving campers open sightlines across a wide, flat meadow. The setup works well for a functional overnight base in the northern Sierra.

Simple and quiet

I stayed here twice during dield work in July 2020. This is a dry camlground with scattered spots amongst the trees. It is quiet with a couple pit toilets. There was only one other camper when I was there so we had most the place to ourselves. Funny story...when I went to use the toilet, the door as open and I thought, great I dont have to touch the handle. While doing my business a bird flew in and was going to land above the door but saw me and flew out. I then noticed a bird nest with babies abive the door. It is nice someone left the door propped for the momma. Simpe, quiet amd perfect access for my field days. There is. Beautiful meadow that goea for miles right next to the campground. Crocker Meadow.
