Accessible via the maintained dirt road 7S02 Santa Rosa Truck Trail, this high-elevation dispersed camping area features 14 Yellow Post sites at elevations reaching 7,900 feet in the Santa Rosa Mountains. Two-wheel drive vehicles can navigate the route, though caution is advised on the ascent. The campground operates year-round under US Forest Service management with no pet policy in effect.
Potable water is available only near sites 3 and 4, while vault toilets serve sites 10-14. Campers must pack out all trash as no collection services exist at these dispersed sites. Fire permits are required for any open flame, including camp stoves, with fires restricted to designated metal rings only. The elevated location provides views toward the Salton Sea and Anza Borrego areas from higher points, along with clear night skies for stargazing. Verizon cell service reaches most areas including the upper sites.
