Browns Campgrounds

A narrow channel with a clear creek runs along the back edge of many campsites here, close enough for tent campers to pitch right next to the water. Browns Campgrounds sits about a mile off Highway 395, which keeps road noise low without adding much driving time to reach camp sites around Bishop. Sites are grassy and level, with trees providing shade at some locations but not all. The campground runs from March through November and accepts RVs up to 50 feet with full hookups, though at least one reviewer notes that only 30-amp electric service was available on their visit.

Amenities include hot showers, a dump station, and a fire pit at each site, along with a water hose bib. Note that showers and dump station use carry an extra fee beyond the base rate. The town of Bishop is less than a mile away, making it easy to resupply or grab a meal without planning ahead. Brown's Town and Keough Hot Sping are nearby alternatives if this campground is full.

Anglers have a short drive to the Owens River, and June Lake is roughly an hour out, making this a workable base for day trips into the eastern Sierra. Giovanni P. notes it was a "quick drive to Owen river for fishing and other activities." Staff are consistently described as friendly across multiple reviews. Pets are allowed, and reservations are available for those who want to plan ahead.
