Andesite Road Dispersed — Shasta NF

Andesite Road cuts through the pine-dotted lower slopes of Shasta National Forest just off US 97, bringing you to a dispersed spot in the shadow of Mount Shasta with open northerly views of the volcano that make for a striking backdrop at any hour. The unimproved gravel road in is generally manageable for vans, trailers, and car campers alike, though sandy or soft sections after heavy rain can challenge lower-clearance vehicles. The site itself offers level ground under a large pine with room for multiple rigs, good cell signal, and a quiet night broken only by the occasional distant highway noise.
