Dagmar Wildlife Management Area Campsites

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Fishing and wildlife watching draw campers to Dagmar Wildlife Management Area Campsites, where the surrounding wetlands and swampy water features give anglers and wildlife observers plenty to work with. One reviewer parked next to a gator pond and reported large splashes from the water, though no gators surfaced. No services are available on site, so this is raw, self-contained camping in a working wildlife management area.

Getting in requires a couple of miles on gravel, but multiple reviewers confirm the road is well-maintained and navigable even after dark. Campers with rigs up to 23 feet have reported easy access and level sites. Sites are clearly marked with blue stripes on trees and signage, and they are spaced far enough apart that solo campers often have a section to themselves. Some highway noise carries into camp, and standing water after wet weather brings mosquitoes, so bug spray is worth packing. Verizon users report picking up some signal. Those planning trips through the Arkansas Delta can also look at camping spots outside Holly Grove or nearby options like Dub'l R RV Park to the east for a camp with hookups.

Travis B. sums it up well: "lots of spots spaced far apart." Campers who want a low-traffic overnight stop in the Arkansas Delta with direct access to wetland habitat will find this WMA worth pulling off the route for.

A free dispersed camping area offering large, well-spaced sites with good privacy but no facilities. Many guests appreciated the secluded feel, though highway noise and seasonal mosquitoes were noted concerns.

Nice place

A couple of miles on a gravel road. It's in pretty good shape. Easy road for our 23 ft Mini Lite. We grabbed the first spot with a "camping spot" sign. Leveling was easy. Really good for an overnight stop. Some Verizon signal.

Easy access and clearly marked sites.

I was pleasantly surprised by what I found in this WMA. Although there are no bathrooms available that I could find the road is easy to access and well-maintained and all of the camping sites are clearly designated with blue stripes on the trees and signs. Although there is road noise and people passing it still feels like a great place to stop and spend a night or several especially for those who like to fish!

Awesome and Free!!

You definitely could hear the interstate but was still very secluded, clean, a little swampy (only in the water), but I place for us to stay the night. Bug spray was needed, but what do you expect it's the woods. I'm pretty sure Bigfoot might hang out, lol.

A Free, Buggy Spot

We got in late and just needed a place to rest. There was a whole lot of standing water and lots of mosquitoes! On the map, it looks like it is right off the highway, but there is no direct route - it is about 10 miles or so off the exit.

Great Free Camping near Water

Got in after dark and area was easily navigatable. Multiple large open camping areas. The one I stayed in had slight traffic noise from the highway, but wasn't an issue as I was van camping.

This seems like not would be great for group camping but I had the whole section to myself. Doesn't seem like this area is overwhelmed with campers. You're likely to find a good spot with some privacy.

I'm slightly paranoid about camping under trees. Was challenging to find a spot in the open.

No services.
