Vekol Valley Road

We spent one night here about 3/4 of a mile down the road on the right. There was an area that was big enough to pull off and turn our 30 foot fifth wheel around in. The sunset was beautiful. The next morning I did walk down to where the road forks and there was plenty of spaces down there. My only complaint about where we camped was, you could still hear the freeway, and the flies were a little bothersome.

Tons of nice level spots, just dry and hot in summer, not much shade

Very easy to get to with my Toyota Corolla. There are quite a few pull-outs on the road with sites and there is enough brush in the area to feel pretty secluded. I saw a jackrabbit or something similar right after dusk, so there is at least some small wildlife in the area. In all, it was quiet and peaceful and I would stay here again. Plus, there is what seems to be a dried-out, rocky riverbed nearby that I walked around with my dog, which was nice!

Our very first boondocking spot with our 17 ft HiLo. Easy in and out of 8 West on Vekol Rd. 3 other campers when we arrived. Our closest neighbor stopped by to help us and introduce himself, Jeff. That was nice of him. It's a little too quiet and remote. 45 min. To stores in Maricopa,AZ

Easy road up from the highway with many choices of campsites. Not dramatic but pleasant.

Stopped just for the night, drove in about 2 miles. Road was a nice gravel with no ruts. Plenty of spots to choose.

This was a great spot out in the Sonoran desert . Tons of land to explore, I drove in about five miles and had no trouble finding a level spot . Beautiful saguora cactus and prickly pear, barrel, etc. I plan on hitting this spot again o my way back west. Highly recommend.

We chose to keep going until we hit actual BLM land, maybe one mile from the highway. The views were phenomenal and very little noise. The moon and stars were beautiful too.

It looked like there was BLM land on the North side of I8, which we’ll check out the next time we pass through here.

Even though the road is a little bumpy, any rig and trailer can make it!

This place is right off the highway. Plenty of level places to park. We drive a van but I think most sizes of RV would have no trouble here. Lots of room to turn around. Pretty view of the mountains. There's highway noise but we were all alone.

Easy to find an spot and lots of space for privacy. Got a rainbow
