Sites extend about half a mile down the main road until a significant wash crossing that blocks access for most RVs and trailers.
The area features open sky views with prominent saguaro cacti but lacks shade, making summer camping challenging. Cell service remains reliable throughout the camping area. Road noise from nearby traffic is audible but not overwhelming during midweek visits. Adjacent state land sees regular target shooting activity. Cattle graze in the area, and the road surface includes several dips that can challenge larger rigs and become problematic during wet weather.
